Pandamonium

Here is it...I'd guess it took me about 4-6 hours of actually working on it in the last 2 days!
This new Skully is up for grabs!!!
That's right...
MY VERY FIRST GIVEAWAY
My son will be 3 soon & it fits him a little loose so depending on the size head...I'm guessing it will fit a child anywhere from 2-5.
It does stretch!
Care: machine wash cool on gentle cycle; tumble dry; do not bleach & do not iron.
It will be softer after the first wash & since it's my first one, I cannot guarantee the ears will be quite as perky!

Orders

Just thought I'd show off some of my work first...
Camp Pendleton Beach Bash 2009
Patriotic Best Dressed ~ 2nd Place
~Alannah Grac
e~
(I've just got to say she probably would have won 1st but I didn't know about the contest until they announced it over the system...so my cousin & I ran her up there from our closer to the ocean spot...LOL! As soon as they saw her they said "Oh my, she gets 2nd for sure!" because they had already had a 1st place by the time we got up there! HAHA...one of my proud Mommy moments for sure!)
3 of my 4 brothers on Christmas morning...they loved them!
A couple of you, my lovely admirers, have asked how you might go about ordering a hat from me!
I'm flattered, thank you & I'm glad you love my creations as much as I love making them.
I have an Etsy account but I've actually stopped using it, it's not really my thing at this point in my life.
I like crocheting more for what my friends & family want...color, pattern...etc.
So if you'd like one of my Skully's just leave it in a comment & either leave me your email address or add me on facebook, so we can get into details! :o)))

I want it Wednesday

I want an ebook! I love to read...I saw the Kindle before Christmas last year, then I saw the Sony Reader & now the Nook. I almost bought a Kindle but I'm glad I waited. I've read the reviews on the Nook & apparently it wins hands down! Does anyone own any of these? What's your opinion?

Snow Camo - Hawk Rawker

Just some pictures of my infamous "Hawk Rawker" I just finished.
I've been taking a break from my crocheting lately with everything I've had going on but my needle is back in my hand & my balls of yarn are dwindling away! :o)))
I'm so VERY proud of this pattern. I created it myself. I had the idea to make it & saw it in my head.
So I did a little research online & found Knit-Head.
They charge an average of about $125.00 per hat, although they have some pretty great details in their patterns that I don't quite have down yet, I just think paying that much for something I know isn't too hard to make is just OUTRAGEOUS!
So I knew I just had to figure it out! I don't know the first thing about knitting, but I knew I'd be able to crochet this.
After a couple attempts I perfected it & a lot of friends & family have absolutely loved it!
So my hard work has paid off!

I've been honored to make one for my mother in laws girlfriend who has been going through chemo & for obvious reason is expanding her hat collection.

Another set for Nolan (& his Daddy) who is currently battling Acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

I was able to make a set for my girlfriends nephews as a Christmas present, some hard rockin' boys themselves ~ Jonathan Davis' (lead singer from Korn) 2 youngest sons.
If you want to see all my other creations please feel free to visit my facebook fan page.

Thank You.

I'm so thankful & proud a church in my hometown is doing so much to honor our veterans & all those who still fight today!!!

Memorial wall honors fallen heroes.

More wall panels were added to this year's Freedom's Heroes War on Terror Memorial at Calvary Christian Center in Yuba City — more names of U.S. military personnel who have died in Afghanistan and Iraq this past year.

"I think there should not be that many names on the panels," Airman First Class Virak Dara, 25, said after walking through the display on Monday. "But it's something we've got to do."

"It's overwhelming to stop at each panel and see how many (names) there are," added Staff Sgt. Wayne Byrd, 28.

The servicemen had walked through the display before taking their posts as volunteers at the site.

Both have served in the current wars, Dara recently returning from six months in Afghanistan and Byrd deployed to Iraq twice.

With 17 panels containing 5,414 names, the memorial is open to the public from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through Monday, Memorial Day, at 2620 Colusa Highway.

The display includes water falling from two tall black blocks representing the New York City Twin Towers attacked on Sept. 11, 2001; 50 American flags behind the panels; and another flag at half-mast in front of the panels.

"Some people may seen this as a nice promotion for the church," said volunteer Walt Gray, 70, of Yuba City. "I see it as a sacred place. I hope it would command reverence."

An opening ceremony for the memorial was held Sunday. The closing ceremony is set at 3 p.m. Monday.

Army veteran Alen R. Bates, 62, of Yuba City was visiting the memorial Monday afternoon to obtain the rubbing of a name for his nephew currently serving in the Army in Afghanistan.

"I think people really need to know about the sacrifices made for freedom," Bates said. "You just can't forget."

In addition to the memorial, the Christian Center is hosting "A Grateful Nation Remembers" Memorial Day services at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sunday and at noon Monday. Admission is free to both the memorial and the services.

The site is also hosting a free medical clinic for veterans and their families from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and a USO Show at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Just Us

Just some pictures from our Anniversary night!
I wish I could have brought a photographer to take pictures the whole night of how much fun we had...but I couldn't!
We had dinner at a super delicious & romantic little gourmet Italian restaurant!
They seriously had the BEST bruschette I've ever had!
And LoverBoy had them make a super sweet desert for me...I think he really likes me!
We went to the movies, cause we haven't gone in FOREVER...we saw Iron Man 2...romantic right?
Actually I'm a HUGE sucker for Marvel comic movies & Tony Stark...I LOVED the movie!
Thanks LoverBoy for making our anniversary this year sooo wonderful!
I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this picture of us because it reminds me how much fun we still have together after 6 years. He gave me a piggy back, then I gave him one! And then I literally skipped up to the movie theater...it was such a great reminder of how amazing we are together!
He really is
ONE OF MY KIND!

Infuriated.

I'm not a Jobro fan at all but...I've lost ALL respect for them.
What the crap?!?

How can you be so disrespectful to such an honorable UNIFORM?! To wear it like such a slob?

MARINES
earn this uniform to wear with PRIDE through blood, sweat & tears! To see a uniform you see on MEN (& WOMEN) who have been to war & who have seen more than some ridiculous, overpaid Hollywood star trying to make a fashion statement could ever possibly understand is so beyond offensive!

Does he seriously not even begin to comprehend what MARINES go through to proudly wear their uniform!?!
And how about the events that they wear them to?!
Weddings, funerals, Marine Corps Balls...it isn't some uniform they roll out of bed & throw on! Why on earth would you possibly think it's acceptable to wear it where ever you wanted, especially without earning the title MARINE?!

Every MARINE that has died for this country & serves our country deserves an apology for the way he has disgraced their uniform!

I'm so infuriated & I'm so completely disgusted!

6 Years!!!

Here is a poem I wrote to my "husband" in 2003 about 2 months before I met LoverBoy online, yes we really did meet online in December 2003, then in person (I didn't even know what he looked like until I stopped halfway to meet his parents first) January 2004 & he proposed 2 weeks later on Valentine's Day & we were married 3 months later!

Future Husband

I think about you often,
Wondering who you are.
Are you the one in my dreams?
Are you near or far?

I want to know you like no other,
How much long is my wait?
To see, to touch, to feel, to love.
My husband, my life-long mate.

As I stand by your side in support,
I pray I fulfill your dreams.
Here I will be forever,
No matter what life may bring.

In that special year,
And on that special day,
To stand proud, thankful and honored,
To take yours as my name.

The moment will come to say "I Do"
As it is my greatest desire.
I want to spend with you my forever,
To love, trust and admire.

Thankful.

I'm so very thankful for all those who have served & still serve today!
I love taking my kids to the Temecula Duck Pond. I love it even more that there is a memorial referred to as "Letters Home" that my children can look at & although they don't understand it yet, one day they will & I know they will appreciate it just as much as I do. I just wanted to share some of the pictures I took of the memorial from our walk there today.

Frosting anyone?

Lately I've been so exhausted I haven't been doing much crocheting even though I love it & it helps me relax. I'm quite OCD so if my house isn't clean the way I like it I cannot just sit & crochet cause I will drive myself crazy with a list of things that need to be done. I finally caught up with my chores & then finally finished a different version of my "Frosted Skully". I think it turned out super cute...I didn't think a red cherry would look right on it so I left that out...maybe with a different color frosting next time! :o))) I'm thinking about making one of these for my first giveaway! What do you think?!
